From Seto. Graduated from the Aichi Prefectural Seto Ceramic High School. Made ceramics at the Seto Azamiyo kiln. Exhibited at the annual Azamiyo Exhibition, as well as the Seto Shaping Group Exhibition and other group exhibitions. Works focus on white porcelain, celadon, and Hai-yu ash glaze, and creates tableware brimming with modern touches. His wife Meiko, a graphic designer, also became a potter after marrying Yu.
