Succeeded the Chikurian Studio, which carries the Aoi kiln mark bestowed by the Owari Tokugawa family. Studied under his grandfather Kato Shunji. Graduated from Seto Ceramic High School and Musashino Art School. Selected for the Japanese Traditional Craft Art Exhibition, Asahi Ceramic Exhibition, and other exhibitions. Creates teacups and water jars of the Setoguro ware and Kizeto styles.
