Born in Gifu Prefecture. Studied under calligraphers Nakabayashi Kozuru and Kato Tokuro. Founder of the ceramic criticism magazine “Sabi”. Helped to compile “Genshoku-toki-daijiten (Dictionary of Pottery)”. Published “Tokuro Zuibunki”. Presided over Amano Ceramics School.
