Studied under Imahashi Takako in Kyoto. After working at the Saga Prefectural Ceramic Research Institute, he worked at a kiln in Kure Pottery. Built the kiln at the foot of Mount Iidake in 1976. Won prizes at the Kyoto Prefectural Exhibition, the Kyushu Modern Industrial Exhibition, and others. Mainly specializes in high-fired unglazed ceramics and ash glazing.
