Graduated from Musashino Art University. Trained at the Gifu Ceramics Institute, and learned from Kato Kobei. Later studied under Oshima Hisaoki. Became independent in 1973. Holds mainly personal exhibitions. Creates Shino, Oribe, and Mino ware blue and white.
