Studied under his father, the previous Kizan. Founded the Touyoukai with the Kizan kiln family, and held/organized exhibitions. Has held exhibitions at locations including Ginza Matsuya, Shinjuku Kakiden, Cologne in western Germany, and the Ginza Owaricho Gallery. Taught at Goldsmiths, University of London, and in 1987, presented a pottery course on NHK TV.
