Studied under Ueda Tsuneji in Kyoto. Became independent in 1975. In 1984, returned to his home town and founded a kiln there. Selected for and won awards at the Japan Folk Crafts Museum Exhibition, Kokuten, and Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, among others. Has held personal exhibitions at Osaka Hankyu. Specializes in porcelain, gosu, and ridged patterns.
