Trained at the Iwao kiln in Arita and the Taiyo kiln in Imabari. In 1967, began studying under Shinoda Giichi at Asama Onsen. Began independent work in 1973. Has won awards at several exhibitions, such as the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition and the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition. Works best with zougan and shonzui. Skilled at decorating vases and platters.
