Born in Yamagata. In 1956, founded a kiln in the gardens of the Homma Museum of Art, under the guidance of Miura Koheiji and Asano Akira. Later studied under Murase Jihei and Koyama Fujio. Creates mainly tea cups. Has held personal exhibitions since 1940, in a range of locations including Nihonbashi, Sendai, Niigata, Nagoya, Mitsukoshi in Hiroshima, Osaka Takashimaya, and Ginza Matsuzakaya.
