Furukata Yukio 古堅幸雄

1943-
Born in Osaka. Graduated from the Kyoto University of the Arts majoring in Craft Ceramics. Later became an apprentice to Kondo Yuzo for 10 years. Repeatedly accepted in the Takemoto Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition starting 1969, and became an official member of the Japan Art Crafts Association in 1974. Became independent in 1977 and transferred his kiln to Kasaoka, Okayama. Judge of the Traditional Art Crafts East Chugoku Exhibition. Awarded in the Okayama Prefectural Exhibition. Jinwakai Award and more. Member of the Yukazekai Association, and Hakutoukai Association. Held solo exhibitions at Okayama Takashimaya, Imai Gallery and more. Primarily works with white porcelain and blue and white wares.
