From Ishikawa Prefecture. Spent many years studying and pursuing traditional techniques of detailed red paintings for Kutani ware, which prospered during the late Edo period to the Meiji era. One of the best painters of modern Kutani ware artists.
Mainly thrived at the Sozo Bijutsu Exhibition, Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition, and private exhibitions. In addition to winning awards during the aforementioned exhibitions, won the Tokyo Governor’s Award, the Asahi Newspaper Special Award, and the Hokka Award at the Sozo Bijutsu Exhibition, the Award of Excellence, the Technical Award, and the Honorable Mention Award at the Traditional Kutani Ware Craft Exhibition, and the Nagoya Bureau of Economy, Trade, and Industry Chief’s Award and Ishikawa Prefectural Governor’s Award at the Kutani Ware Industrial Design Exhibition. Also selected for the Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition every year.
