Born in Honami. Graduated from the Kobe City College of Technology. After working for Kobe Newspaper Co., Ltd, he became an apprentice to Tamba’s Shimizu Takeshi in 1974. In 1975 he began to study under his uncle, Fujiwara Ken, to learn Bizen. In 1978 he constructed an independent kiln at Bizen. Accepted in the Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition, Traditional Art Crafts East Chugoku Branch Exhibition, Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, Chunichi International Ceramic Art Exhibition, and Okayama Prefecture Exhibition. Primarily creates works in Hidasuki style with an ascending kiln.
