Born in Tajimi. Graduated from Tajimi Technical High School, Department of Ceramics. Studied under Kato Takuo. While teaching at his alma mater’s Ceramics Department, he also made pottery. Awarded a prize at the Nitten exhibition, the Chunichi Prize at the Nagoya exhibition, and is a member of Nitten society. Selected and won prizes at the Niko-kai exhibition, Chunichi International Exhibition, and the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition. Exhibited at the Firenze International Exhibition. He is a member of the Japan New Industrial Arts Association. Director of the Mino Ceramic Association. He mainly produces innovative decorative ware using the traditional Mino ceramic method.
