1923-?maleIn 1970, he built a kiln at his home. Retired in 1979 to devote himself to pottery, and opened Honjo Utsuhani Kiln in 1980. He is a member of the Pottery Association of Japan and has received the Pottery Flame Exhibition Memorial Prize. Awarded, commissioned, and judged at the Saitama Prefecture Exhibition. Selected for the Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition, Musashino Exhibition, New Works Exhibition, and Kofu-kai Exhibition. Solo exhibitions at Shinjuku Gallery Asuka and others. Takakura Kunimitsu 高倉国光

1941-malekoishiwara potteryBorn in Koishiwara, Fukuoka Prefecture. Graduated from Asaha Agricultural High School and started his career as a potter in 1970. 1975 built a climbing kiln in Yunotani and became independent. Takagi Michihiro 高木通宏

1947-maleechizen potteryBorn in Nakano, Tokyo. He graduated from Meiji Gakuin University, and trained at Echizen Pottery Village in 1973. In 1978, he opened the Echizen Kozan Kiln, and in 1979, he built a Semi-ground type hole kiln to produce tableware for tea ceremonies. In addition to pottery classes, the studio also offers soba noodle making, stone oven pizza, and bread making to allow visitors to experience food, pottery, and the nature of Shizuoka. (more…)

1919-2014malekutani porcelainStudied under Kitade Tojiro and Asakura Isokichi. Member of Nitten. Awarded an Honorable Mention of Arts and Crafts at the Nitten Exhibition. Awarded the Minister of Education’s Honorable Mention at the Asia Exhibition, and served as a committee member and judge. Awarded the highest prize at the Ishikawa Prefectural Exhibition and served as a commissioned judge. Won a prize at the Traditional Kutani Ware Craft Exhibition. 1949-maleBorn in Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture. After working at Tsukamoto Pottery in Mashiko, built a kiln in 1973. Selected for the Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition, the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, and others. Awarded the Minister of International Trade and Industry Prize at the Saitama Ceramic Art Exhibition, and was a judge at the same exhibition. Full member of Japan Kogei Association.
