Takita Koichi 瀧田項一

1927-maleBorn in Karasuyama Kaji-machi, Tochigi Prefecture. Graduated from Tokyo Art School. Studied under Tomimoto Keikichi, and upon graduation in 1947, was introduced to Hamada Shoji. Awarded a prize at the Kokuga-kai exhibition and became a member. In 1959, he was dispatched by the Asia Foundation as a lecturer in the ceramics department of the Pakistan National University of Fine Arts and Music. After returning to Japan, he visited many countries around the world. In 1984, he moved his kiln from Aizu to his hometown Karasuyama. Takise Genichi 滝瀬源一

1918-2016maleBorn in Tokyo, he received the Nikikai Honorable Mention and the Doujin Effort Prize in 1953. In 1962, he won the prize at the Contemporary Art Exhibition of Japan. He was selected for the Mainichi Modern Art Exhibition and others. Participated in the Japan International Art Exhibition and the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition. Takiguchi Kiheiji 瀧口喜兵爾

1937-malemino potteryBorn in Asakusa, Tokyo. Graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture at Tamagawa University, and began training at Kato Juemon Kiln in 1961. 1965 Established his own kiln at Yashichida Kiln Site in Oogaya, Mino. Later studied at Tsuji Shinroku Pottery studio in Kyoto. Moved to the U.S. in 1971 to work in Malborough, Vermont, where he built an anagama kiln in 1973 and a climbing kiln in 1975. No affiliation. Takiguchi Kazen 2nd 二代 滝口加全

1911-2004malekutani porcelainHis real name is Wakita Katsuji and he was adopted by Takiguchi Kazen. Graduated from Ishikawa Prefectural Technical School. Worked at the Prefectural Industrial Research Institute and later became independent and established the Kutani Seisen Kiln. He is an experienced artist who has been awarded prizes since the Bunten exhibition before the Showa era. He mainly produces decorative ware with effective matte glaze. (more…)

1923-2004maleBorn in Seto City. Graduated from Nagoya Technical College. Began teaching at his alma mater, Seto Ceramics High School, and retired in 1967. Selected for Nitten exhibition, Chunichi Prize. Member and retired from the Kofu-kai Exhibition, including the Craft Prize and the Mr. H Prize. Received the Governor’s Prize at the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition, and was selected for the Japan New Craft Exhibition, the Japan Contemporary Craft Exhibition, and Chunichi International Exhibition. Tagawa Gasho 田川雅章

1921-?maleraku potteryIn 1961, he began to make Raku ware as a hobby. He learned by imitating the old works of Raku Chojiro, Donyu, and Ichinyu. In 1967, he became acquainted with Kuroda Tojian, who was a permanent director of the Japan Ceramic Society. Held solo exhibitions at Yonago Daimaru Department Store and Ginza Kuroda Toen. Takamiya Takaharu 髙宮髙春

1940-malebizen potteryBorn in Tsuyama City. He is the brother of Takahara Shoji and Kunihiko. After working for a company, he started Bizen Yoshinaga ware in 1968, using his own pottery clay. Takama Shin 高間眞

1935-maleHis real name is Masao. Born in Tokyo. Studied under Karasugi Toko. Later founded Abiko Pottery in Chiba Prefecture. In 1970, he participated in the founding of the Toko-kai National Exhibition, and has since been awarded the Toko-kai Prize, and is the permanent representative of the Toko-kai. Presided over Toen. Consecutively participated in the Contemporary Japanese New Artists Exhibition at the Nihonbashi Takashimaya Department Store.
