He has received many awards, including the Chozo Prize at the Chozo Prize Ceramics Exhibition. Selected for the Nitten Exhibition, the Chunichi International Exhibition, and others. Tanabe Kimiko 田辺喜美子

1938-femaleBorn in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Graduated from Kudamatsu High School. After working as a secretary to the president of a transportation company, she married Tanabe Kiyomi, a painter belonging to the Niki-kai. In 1979, she decided to study ceramics and joined a ceramics course at the Yamaguchi Prefectural Museum of Art. Studied under Yamato Yasuo. She received a special commemorative award at the 45th anniversary exhibition of Tokuyama City. She makes tea bowls and Sculpture using Hagi-Daido clay and Shigaraki clay. (more…)

Tanaka Yutaka 田中裕

1918-?maleHe built the Koishikari Kiln in Miyanomori in 1953, visited Mashiko in 1967, and was introduced to Hamada Shoji in 1969. His work was first selected for the Japan Folk Art Museum Exhibition in 1962. His works have been selected for the National Exhibition and many others. He has received many awards, including the Japan Folk Art Association Award. Leader of the Ryokudei-kai. Held a series of solo exhibitions at Park Gallery. Tanaka Masao 田中正生

In 1971, he built a cellar kiln and became an independent potter. 1974, he went to Shigaraki to study under Ogawa Seiho. 1975, he returned his hometown and built a salt kiln. 1980, he moved to Kitagoya, Mashiko Town and opened a climbing kiln. He has had solo and group exhibitions every year since 1976, including a two-person exhibition with Sakuma Kenji.
