Awarded the Nara Prefectural Exhibition, Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition, Japan Modern Craft Exhibition, and selected by Nitten. Became a member of Nitten in 1973. Osako Mikio 大迫みきお

1940-1995maletokoname potteryBorn in Usa, Oita Prefecture. He entered the Tokoname City Ceramic Research Institute in 1968. Established Hinohara-gama (named after Tanigawa Tetsuzo) in 1982. He was awarded the Honorary Grand Prize at the Barolis International Ceramics Exhibition, the Grand Prize at the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, and others. Selected for the Chunichi International Ceramic Art Exhibition, the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, and others. Ogami Shikao 大上鹿男

1923-2013maletamba potteryBorn in Tanba Takikake. Worked at one of the six oldest kilns in Japan, Tanba-yaki pottery. Came back to work in 1950 and inherited the family business of pottery making. He has been aiming at producing pottery that is widely popular, mainly for daily use. Awarded by the Governor of Hyogo Prefecture in 1973 and many other awards. His main skills are traditional decoration such as flowing decoration, round crests, leaf patterns, line carving, and cylindrical painting, as well as simple fire-clad ceramics. (more…)

1949-maleBorn in Motegi, Tochigi Prefecture. Graduated from the Department of Arts, Faculty of Humanities, Wako University. Apprenticed at the Tochigi Prefectural Pottery Training Institute in 1974. Studied at the Tochigi Prefectural Pottery Training Institute in 1974 and studied under Takato Omiyaji in 1975. Became independent in 1979 and established his own kiln in 1979.
