Ohi Choraku 大樋長楽

1902 – 1991maleGraduated from Ishikawa Prefectural High School. Studied under Aoki Sotokichi. Received the name of Ohi when Ohi Chishin’s kiln was closed in 1924. Characteristic for incorporating white Maku-yu glaze and Sancai. Held private exhibitions at the Takashimaya in Osaka, the Odakyu in Tokyo, the Daiwa in Kanazawa, and other venues. He is the eighth generation of the Ohi-ware Kiln, a major ceramic artist. Selected for the Exhibition of New Works of Traditional Crafts, Musashino Art Exhibition, and Japan Traditional Craft Art Exhibition. Held private exhibitions at Nomura Art Museum in Kyoto, the Seibu in Shibuya, Nihombashi, and the Mitsukoshi in Sapporo. Ono Kotaro 大野耕太郎

1953-maleBorn in Brazil. Graduated from Gakushuin University in 1977, and worked as an instructor at the Takigawa City Pottery Center in Hokkaido. After graduating from Gifu Prefectural Tajimi High School, he worked as an instructor at the Takigawa City Ceramics Center in Hokkaido. Awarded the Mitsukoshi Prize at the New Traditional Craft Exhibition and the Hokkaido Newspaper Award at the same Sapporo Touring Exhibition. Participated in a series of exhibitions organized by the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art. His works are mainly blue and white porcelain. (more…)

Ono Kokan 大野晃幹

1942-maleDropped out of the Department of Fine Arts at Tokyo University of the Arts. Opened a kiln in Yashio City in 1975. Served as an instructor at the Yashio City Social Education Ceramic Workshop and Yashio Ceramics Club. He moved to Sahara, Chiba Prefecture in 1979 and opened Taiki-gama Kiln in 1984. In addition to the free membership system, he also offers custom-made pottery services to meet the needs of his customers.
