1943 –malehagi potteryBorn in Kishiwada, Osaka. After his father died, he moved to his mother’s hometown, Hagi. After graduating from Hagi High School, he studied under Yoshika Taibi. In 1969, the Oya kiln was established in this location and since 1976, Hagi ware was fired in a snake kiln (one of the primitive climbing kilns made using a slope, but the rooms in the kiln are not separated like a climbing kiln). 1916 – ?maleHe started making hand-made raku ware in the middle of his 30 years of service with the Hiroshima Prefectural Police. Studied under Fujiie Tamotsu, a direct descendant of Tanaka Ichibe (1894-1945) in Kyoto. Awarded a prize in the Prefectural Selection. Became a friend of the Shinkyo Art Association. Hamada Atsuya 濱田篤哉

After graduating from Moka High School, he went to England in 1956 to study under Bernard Leach for two years. Solo exhibitions at Mitsukoshi Department Store in Nihonbashi and elsewhere. 1945 –malemashiko potteryHe was born in Chicago. Graduated from California State University. Later, he studied under Seto Hiroshi in Mashiko and Gue Yu Eriksen in Denmark. Hanyu Takahiro 羽二生隆宏

1937-maleBorn in Yoichi-gun, Hokkaido. After working at Seto Akatsu, he studied under Akiyama Kazuo in Mashiko for three years. Later, he established the Abiko Pottery Hanyu-gama in Chiba Prefecture. Awarded the Superintendent of Education Prize at the Chiba Prefectural Exhibition and the Governor’s Award at the Saitama Ceramic Art Exhibition. Awarded the Governor’s Prize at the Saitama Ceramic Art Exhibition and others. Awarded at the Kofue-kai Exhibition, Issuikai Exhibition, Kokugakai Exhibition and New Japanese Traditional Craft Exhibition. Hanabusa Shuan 花房秀安

1908-1990malebizen potteryHis real name is Ichiro. He was born in Mitsu-gun, Okayama Prefecture, and set his mind to ceramic art in 1932. After the war, he built his own kiln in 1959.
