Born in Bizen City. After graduating from Oku High School, he moved to Tokyo and studied under Yamaguchi Chonan, an oil painter, before returning to his hometown. Returned to Tokyo and studied under Uragami Zenji in 1971. Produced reliefs for the Kyoto Sanatorium, the Printing Bureau of the Ministry of Finance.
