Born in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Graduated from the Faculty of Commerce, Chuo University. Worked for a general insurer and aspired to become a potter in 1970. Travelled to Seto, Sanin and Tamba kiln. In 1972, he studied under Terasaka Joraku in Mashiko, where he learned the pottery technique for tea and flower arrangements. Later, he produced pottery in Aizu Hongo, Fukushima. He became an independent potter in 1979. In 1983, he formed the Soryu-kai and held an exhibit in Chigasaki. Held solo exhibitions at G Rokuro and Mashiko Tsukato in Chiba City. Exhibited at the Kodo Flower Vase Exhibition and others. Focuses mainly on gray glazing.
