Graduated from Chiba Institute of Technology in 1971. At the same time, he worked at his father’s company, Shin-gama, where he learned the basics of glaze, pottery and clay at the Ceramic Research Institute. Later, studied under Inoue Manji. Awarded the Kyusyu-Yamaguchi Ceramic Art Exhibition Honorable Mention, NBC Award, Three Chairs, Western Craft Exhibition Honorable Mention, Kyushu Asahi Broadcasting Award, Fukuoka Prefectural Board of Education Award, and Saga Prefectural Exhibition Governor’s Award. His works are mainly celadon.
