His real name is Toyoshichi. Born in Chino City, Nagano Prefecture. Studied under Inoue Ryosai. Became independent in 1971. Awarded the Asahi Prize at the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition, Matsuzakaya Prize, and others. Awarded at the Nitten and other exhibitions. Mainly concerned with kiln changes.
