Born in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture. The third son of a local pottery company. Began pottery making in 1980. Studied under Yoshida Yoshihiko of the Togenkai. Made tea bowls, decorative vessels, and tableware mainly in Shino, Kohiki, and high-fired unglazed ceramics.
