Switched from landscape gardening to ceramics in 1973. Learned from historian of modern ceramics Yoshida Kozo, and Ogawa Tetsuo from Kumamoto. Selected for and received prizes at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, the Japan Ceramics Exhibition, etc. Focuses on kohiki (white powdered-looking ceramics), ash glaze, and kakiyu glaze. Regular member of the Japan Kogei Association.
