From Kanagawa Prefecture. Graduated from the Tokyo Craft Design Research Institute. Worked for Kobayashi Porcelain Design in Kasama afterwards. Studied under Miura Isamu and Matsumoto Saichi. Set up independently in 1976. Has won prizes at and been selected for the Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition, the New Works Exhibition, the Japan Ceramics Exhibition, etc. Does carbonized yakishime (high-fired unglazed ceramics), inlay work, and printed figures.
