Born in Nagano prefecture. Became a teacher after graduating from Musashino Art University. Took charge of the ceramics course at Hokkaido University of Education in 1977 where he was an assistant professor. Selected for the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition, the Japan Ceramics Exhibition, others. Recipient of the New Traditional Crafts Exhibition Hokkaido Newspaper Press Award, Gunen Award.
