Born in Aomori prefecture. Dropped out of Musashino Art University. Studied under Yanagi Sori, a son of Yanagi Soetsu, learning from Tajimi and Mashiko. Established, in 1968, the St. Paul kiln built at St. Paul’s Academy in Onkata-cho in Hachioji. Founding member of the Showa Art Association. Primarily focused on ginkgo, mulberry and ash glazes.
