Went to Hawaii in 1919. Studied at the Faculty of Ceramics at the University of Hawaii. Discovered new glazes using the unique lava, plants, and shells of the area. Returned home in 1959 and started a kiln in the area. Held exhibitions at the Mitsukoshi in Nihombashi and other venues. Won the Prefectural Cultural Merit Award and other awards.
