She was born in Nagoya, Japan. Graduated from Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music in 2004 with a degree in ceramics from the Department of Design and Crafts, Faculty of Fine Arts and Music. Completed the artist-in-residence program at the Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park in 2006. Completed the technical training program at the Kanazawa Utatsuyama Craft Workshop in 2009. Currently lives and works in Kanazawa. Major awards include the Invitational Judge’s Prize (Kenji Kaneko Prize) at the 46th Japan Craft Exhibition in 2006, the Encouragement Prize at the 2nd Kikuchi Biennale in 2007, and the “Future School of Craft” at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa in 2012. The same exhibition was held at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York, U.S.A. from October 2003 to February 2004 as the Agency for Cultural Affairs Overseas Exhibition “Future School of Japanese Crafts”. In addition to his solo exhibition at the main store of Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi, he will also exhibit his works at “Art Fair Tokyo 2016” (11th-14th, Tokyo International Forum).
