His wife’s father is Oe Fumio, a master craftsman. He has won prizes at the Nitten, the Modern Craft and Beauty Exhibition, the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition, etc., as well as the Governor’s Award and the Asahi Newspaper Company Award. He makes abstracts, tea ceremony ceramics and tableware with gray, white and green glazes.
