Real name is Toru. Birth of the third generation of Kawara kiln.

1989 Selected for the first time at the Japan Contemporary Craft Exhibition, and has been selected ten times since.

1990 Studied under Tanaka Sajiro, Karatsu ware.

1991 Received Buddhist ordination and attained spiritual maturity at Eiheiji Temple.

1999 Member of Japan Contemporary Craft Artists Association.

2002 Started research and production of Goryeo Tea Bowl at the kiln of Shin Jeong in Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea.

Commemorated the 30th anniversary of the normalization of culture between Japan and China at Shizuoka Prefectural Museum of Art.

Commemorating the 30th Anniversary of Japan-China Cultural Normalization.

A pottery plate, inscribed “Yangtze River”, in the collection of the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, China.

A vase, inscribed “Imperial Splendor”, Collection of Yunnan Provincial People’s Government, China.

Art exchange with Shin Han-gyun, Gyeongsangnam-do, Korea.

2005 Traveled to Korea to conduct research on Goryeo tea bowls and other ceramics. Exhibited Shin’s two-person exhibition at BEXCO

Held Ueno Kawara Pottery Exhibition at Nomura Art Museum in Kyoto.

2006 Participated as a lecturer in the public symposium “Chanoyu, Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” in Kyoto.

Held Yamaoka Tohru Tea Ceremony Pottery Exhibition in Jinju, Korea in the same year.

Exhibited Japanese Tableware Ten Artists Exhibition.

2008 Lecture on “Koryo Tea Bowl” at Nomura Art Museum, Kyoto.

2009 Published “Koryo Tea Bowl” by Aura Korea.

“Agano Hwayeong Tea Bowl” is collected by Tongdosa Seongho Museum in Korea.

2011 Exhibits tea utensils in the Korean Tea Ceremony Culture Exhibition at the Nomura Art Museum, Kyoto.
