Born in Niigata. Began creating pottery in 1972. Studied under Koinuma Michio in Mashiko. In 1978, founded a kiln in Saitama. Has won awards at the Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition, Traditional Craft New Works Exhibition, and Musashino Exhibition, among others. Mainly creates vases and everyday objects with zougan.
