Graduated from the Physics department at Aoyama Gakuin Daigaku. Later began creating pottery at Yakushima, Kagoshima, and in 1974, founded an anagama kiln in Koumi. Has won the Japan Contemporary Ceramics Exhibition, among other exhibitions and awards. Has held personal exhibitions at locations including the Akasaka Inui Gallery and Maronie in Kyoto. Searches for the perfect texture with his yakishime polishing method.
