Founded the Eiichi kiln, which produces Kosugi ware, in 1970. Revived Kosugi ware, an old style from the late Edo period famous for its duck-shaped tokkuri (sake bottles). Born in Kanazawa. After graduating from Kanazawa College of Art, gained several accolades. He is director of the Asian Art Association, a judge of the Asia Modern Art Exhibition, Shinso Kogeikai member, Japan Ceramics Association member, former Nipputen director and judge, Toyama Industrial Artists League member, director of the prefecture’s Design Association, member of the city’s Industrial Artists League, member of the Takaoka Industrial Artists League, etc.
