Born into the family of the kiln commissioned by the Kagawa clan and studied at the Kyoto Ceramic Training Institute. Young brother of Kita Rihei XIII. Became independent in 1975. Studied under Tezuka Hisashi and Kawai Seitoku. Works focus on tea bowls.
