Born in Hagi. Studied under his father Shogetsu, and in 1975 built a climbing kiln and became independent. Awarded prizes at the Western Craft Exhibition, the Kyushu-Yamaguchi Ceramic Exhibition, the West Japan Ceramic Exhibition, the Chanoyu Formative Exhibition, and others. Exhibited at the British Embassy. Solo exhibitions at Shinjuku Odakyu Department Store and others.
