Born in Obata, Kanra Town. After graduating from Nihon University, he aspired to become a potter. He studied at Mino Yutaro Kiln and studied under Toshima Kazuhiko of Kurusaka, and in 1982, he revived the old kiln Kobata ware in Joshu, built a climbing kiln, and became independent. He also reproduces the traditional powder glaze of Joseon Dynasty and cinnabar red of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
