Born in Tokoname. Studied under Konishi Yusen. Awarded a prize at the Asahi Ceramic Art Exhibition in 1977. Since then, he has been awarded many prizes at the Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition and the Tokai Traditional Craft Exhibition. In 1983, he was awarded the Chozo Prize at the Chozo Prize Ceramic Art Exhibition and other prizes. Mainly works with ash glaze, high-fired unglazed ceramics, and marbled ware.
