In 1960, he succeeded to the name of Gen’uemon , one of the three famous Arita kilns (Gen’uemon, Kakiemon and Imaemon). In 1970, he participated in the first survey of old Imari in the collection of the Dresden Museum in Germany and he was a member of the selection committee for negotiations on the homecoming of the museum’s old Imari in 1974. Purchased many works from the Imperial family. Solo exhibitions in the U.S. and elsewhere. Mainly overglaze red enamel decoration, and blue and white.
