Born in Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture, he helped his brother Takahara Shoji’s kiln in 1964, and began his career in Bizen Pottery the following year. He has been selected for the Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition and other awards. He is a member of the East Chugoku Branch of Japan Kogei Association. He has held solo exhibitions and brother exhibitions in Himeji, Fukuyama Tenmaya Department Store, Nagoya Matsuzakao Department Store, Gifu and Okayama Takashimaya Department Store.
