Born in Tsukubo-gun, Okayama Prefecture. Worked as a policeman and built a kiln in 1971 after turning his age of 50. After having the opportunity to come in contact with the work of Fujiwara Kei and Yamamoto Tohshu, he began to create pottery. Mainly hand-twisted teapots.
