He is the 13th generation of Takatori Pottery. He learned tea ceremony pottery from his grandfather, Sassen Sashichi, and studied under Miwa Yanosuke, a researcher of Takatori ancient kilns. He has been awarded prizes at the National Ceramic Exhibition, the Japan Folk Art Museum Exhibition, and the Japan Traditional Crafts Competition. Moved to Korea to study old kilns. Held solo exhibitions at Nihonbashi Takashimaya Department Store and others.
