Born in Koishiwara, Fukuoka Prefecture. Graduated from Asaha Agricultural High School and started his career as a potter in 1970. 1975 built a climbing kiln in Yunotani and became independent. Since 1981, he has been active in solo exhibitions, mainly in Tokyo and Osaka.
