Born in Kyoto, Japan. The eldest daughter of Ganka II, she assumed the name Ganka III in 1947. Studied under Ganka II, who was designated as the first artist to preserve the art of ceramics. Fifteenth-anniversary exhibition of the Kyoto Traditional Potters Association. Focused on tea ceremony utensils and tableware, especially chinoiserie in blue, overglaze red enamel decoration, and overglaze enamel and gold decoration.
