Studied the basis of ceramics at the Tekisui Museum Ceramic Research Institute. Later became independent and started the Unohana kiln. Held private exhibitions every year in Tokyo and Osaka since 1976. Sought new metallic colors, and works focus on overlapping and mixed black and red glazes and Gosu glaze.
