Born in Kyoto. Graduated from the ceramics department of Hiyoshigaoka High School and received the Education Committee Award. Received the Mayor’s Award for Excellence in each course. Awarded the Mayor’s Prize for each course. Studied under Kiyoshi Nakajima. Later established Koto-gama kiln. Selected for the Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition, the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, and others. Solo exhibition at Mitsukoshi, Osaka. Works mainly with iron in ash and green glazes.
