Eldest son of Shibaoka Kazumi. Graduated from Bizen High School and the Ceramics Center. Studied under his uncle, Kozan the second, and his father. Awarded the Okayama Prefectural Exhibition Prize and the Governor’s Prize. Received the Sanyo Broadcasting System Prize at the Bikei-kai Exhibition. He has been awarded prizes at the Japan Traditional Craft Exhibition, the Issuikai Exhibition, the Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, Chunichi International Exhibition, and others. Regular member of Japan Kogei Association.
