Graduated from Tajimi Technical School in October 1935. Later joined Ohkura Toen company. In 1949, he built the Kogen-Kiln in his hometown Hirakaido with his younger brother, Kohei. Certified as a traditional artisan in 1980. Works mainly in Shino and ash glaze.
