Born in Usa, Oita Prefecture. Graduated from Nihon University. Built a kiln in 1961. Received the Governor’s Prize at the Fukuoka Prefectural Exhibition. Awarded prizes at the Nitten, Japan Contemporary Craft Exhibition, and others. Studied primitive and ancient art and traveled around the world. Served as a judge for the City Exhibition and the Prefectural Exhibition. Member of the Prefectural Art Association and Fukuoka Bunren. Lecturer at the Fukuoka Asahi Cultural Center. Leader of Shakudo-kai.
